Final Weekly Update for 4th Grade

Dear Parents,

Next week I shall give you back your child. The same child you confidently entrusted to my care last fall. I give them back pounds heavier, inches taller, and months wiser than they were then.

Although they would have attained their growth in spite of me, it has been my pleasure and privilege to watch their personality unfold day by day and marvel at this miracle of development.

I give them back a bit reluctantly. Having spent ten months together in the narrow confines of Campus School, we have grown close and we shall always retain a little of each other. We have lived, celebrated, TCAP tested, laughed, learned, and enriched our lives together this year.

Remember that I shall always be interested in your child and their future endeavors, wherever they go, whatever they do, whoever they become. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to be your child’s teacher this year and for most of you two years!

Respectfully,

Mr. Shadow

PS Next week I will be traveling with the 5th grade students to Lakeshore Camp located in Eva, TN.
Mrs. Underwood will be filling in for me until I return on Friday, June 1st. Check out their website at

End of the Year Party and Spring Fling

I have postponed our States and Capitals Quiz until Monday. Many children were not ready for the assessment. Please use following link to help your child learn about U.S. geography and be better prepared for our quiz on Monday.

I am in need of chaperons for our End of the Year Party on Tuesday. As of now I have transportation for just 11 children (less than half our class).

Spring Fling will be held on Friday, May 25th. If you have not purchased your child a ticket there is still time to do so. Please look for the lime green form in your child's folder. All payments must be made in cash.

Weekly Update

Thank you so much for the coffee, goodies, cards, gifts, and for volunteering your time! I appreciate all you do for our classroom, and for our children.
Our Parent Appreciation Breakfast is next Friday morning in the playroom. I hope that you can come and enjoy some delicious food.
We have reserved a pavilion at Shelby Farms near the Woodland Discovery Playground on Tuesday, May 22nd from 9:00-1:30. We will spend the day exploring the playground, walking nature trails, playing games, and enjoying a picnic lunch! All parents are invited to join us for this fun celebration.
To cover the cost of the pavilion and activities, we are asking each student to bring in $7.00 cash, as CSPN is no longer accepting checks.  Please return the permission slip that is coming home on Monday, along with $7.00 cash, by Friday, May 18th

We will need many parent volunteers, in order to make our celebration a success! If you are interested signing up to volunteer, please visit the wiki page below. http://fourthgradeshelbyfarmsmay22.wikispaces.com/
